Lincoln Man Flown to Columbia Hospital with Serious Injuries Thursday Morning
A 37-year-old Lincoln man was flown to a Columbia hospital Thursday morning, after suffering serious injuries in a Benton County vehicle accident.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the accident just before 11:00.
A 2004 Mitsubishi Montero was eastbound on Route C, a half-mile west of Keseman Avenue.
The driver failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road. After leaving the roadway, the Montero struck a highway sign and two trees.
The driver, 37-year-old Joshua S. Young, of Lincoln, suffered serious injuries in the accident. He was taken to University Hospital in Columbia, by Lifeflight Air Ambulance, for treatment.
According to the report, the Montero was totaled in the accident.
Afterwards, Young was arrested for driving while intoxicated and failing to drive on the right half of the road.
