More Country Superstars Sign on for Kenny Rogers’ Farewell Concert
The star power of All in for the Gambler: Kenny Rogers’ Farewell Concert Celebration has increased even more: Reba McEntire, Chris Stapleton, Lady Antebellum and Wynonna Judd have all signed on for the special event.
Making Rogers' farewell show even more special, Naomi Judd will be joining her daughter for a special performance in honor of the country legend. In a press release, Rogers says he "admire[s] each one of the[se newly added artists] for the music they create and for the integrity that is always evident in their work."
"Having them be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime night is going to make things even more exciting for me," Rogers adds. "I appreciate them doing this, and all of the other artists who will perform, more than they know.”
All in for the Gambler: Kenny Rogers’ Farewell Concert Celebration is scheduled to take place on Oct. 25 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Previously announced artists for the concert include Little Big Town, Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton, Linda Davis and Jamey Johnson, along with Broadway star Idina Menzel, pop star Elle King and rock group the Flaming Lips.
Rogers is hand-picking many of the All in for the Gambler performers himself, but he will let the artists choose which song they want to sing. Rogers has charted more than 40 singles, on either the country or pop charts, and sometimes both.
“I think you have to let the artist pick the song. I’m excited about that, because you hear different renditions of your song that you’ve never heard before,” the Country Music Hall of Fame member explains. “When I do duets, I always let the artist pick the song. I never pick the song, because you have to find a song that that artist is going to sound good on. Because if they don’t sound good, they’ll hold you responsible.”
