Kenny Chesney and Florida Georgia Line will bring their Chillaxification show to Arrowhead Stadium next spring on Saturday May 29. Original tickets will be honored at the show's new date. Those fans who would prefer a refund have 30 days to obtain one by requesting a refund at their point of purchase.

Most of Chesney's stadium dates for the tour with Florida Georgia Line have been rescheduled with the exception of two Texas dates. The St. Louis date at Busch Stadium will take place on Saturday July 10, 2021. Make up dates for the arena version of the show will be announced later.

In the news release posted on his website, Kenny Chesney talked about his frustration trying to chart a course forward for the tour this summer and the lack of a solution that eventually lead him to decide the best action would be to just stay off the road.

Chesney also talked about the challenges of rescheduling in the release to fans:

So much goes into the stadium shows, people have no idea. Take all of that, then factor in all the other issues that come with rescheduling, making sure there aren’t conflicts with baseball or other events nearby – and maintain the kind of quality we want to bring. There were so many questions, so many unknowns, but I believe music makes a difference in people’s lives, so everyone on my team, the promoter’s team and all of the people we deal with have worked overtime trying to get this sorted out.

I don't know who does his news releases, or if Kenny writes this stuff himself. But if you want a brutally honest take on some of the things artists were considering as they tried to chart a course forward, I believe the thoughts shared by Kenny and his team on his website are a glimpse into that thought process.

I'm still a little bummed we'll have to wait until next year for this show. By the time this show comes off, I will have been talking about it for nearly the entirety of my time as a DJ on Kix 105.7. That I think will be the longest I've ever talked about an artist's show I want to see. Good thing it's a show that won't disappoint. Until then I'm going to dip my feet into the kiddy pool, enjoy a couple of ice cold beers, and crank up Kix 105.7. Sounds like the secret to a great summer.
