Kacey Musgraves brought a burst of shimmering energy to the Ellen DeGeneres Show in the form of her vibrant new song, "High Horse," on Wednesday (April 4).

The singer dazzled — quite literally — in a jumpsuit that acted as her own personal disco ball as she belted a disco-infused track that pokes at the egomaniacs of the world. Musgraves is always bringing something new to the table, and she confidently sampled this song from her new Golden Hour album in front of a live Ellen audience.

"Darling you take the high horse and I'll take the high road" she sings charmingly in the clip above, the lights bouncing off her purple ensemble as she plays her clever wordplay game against an eclectic backing.

These Ladies Are Blazing Trails in Country Music:

The studio cut of "High Horse" was one of the tracks Musgraves shared with fans ahead to the release of Golden Hourwhich dropped March 30.

"We all know that character that is just a little high of themselves. They're just a little bit arrogant. I had this title sitting around for a long time and I have my own ideas about who it's about," she says of what inspired the song. "Everyone has that character in their life and then I got to write it and oh my gosh, it is the most fun ever."

Golden Hour has been met with widespread critical acclaim. The album features the touching "Rainbow" and powerful "Space Cowboy," along with several other intriguing tracks like "Oh What a World" — also the title of Musgraves' 2018 tour that begins on Oct. 21 in Amsterdam.
