The Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center at State Fair Community College will host a new event this weekend. The "Junk 2 Treasure" show is from 9-6 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday.

"Junk 2 Treasure is an upscale flea market, upscale garage sale type event," said Dana Page, event coordinator. "We're going to have re-purposed items, D.I.Y., collectibles, things like that."

Page says that some of the common re-purposed items she sees around the Sedalia area include items made from old wood palettes, license plates and old bicycle wheels. "There should be a variety of things like that that people can buy that are already re-done, or things you can buy and re-do yourself."

State Fair Community College's "Junk 2 Treasure" sale will be at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center. Page says the college will have workers on hand to help vendors unload and load their merchandise. Admission is $3 and is good for both days. There will be free parking, concessions and door prizes.

Vendor space is still available. Booth sizes are 10 x 10 and 10 x 20. Access to electricity is limited, and vendors must provide their own extension cords. Vendors may set up booths from 2-8 p.m. September 23. Doors will open for vendors at 7 a.m. Saturday.
