Sedalia Man Involved in JoCo Rollover Arrested
A Sedalia man was injured in a three-vehicle accident that occurred Friday afternoon in Johnson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2015 Chevy Silverado, driven by 63-year-old Nicholas C. Palecek of Sedalia, was on Missouri 13, north of the Business 13 Roundabout around 1:30 p.m., when Palecek crossed the center line and attempted to pass a southbound 2024 Freightliner, driven by 67-year-old William L. Thompson of Springfield.
The Freightliner and a northbound 2019 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 42-year-old Richard J. Fry of Holden, struck mirrors, causing the Jeep to strike the rear of the Freightliner.
The Silverado traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
Palecek suffered moderate injuries and was transported by JCAD to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
Palecek was later arrested by the Patrol at 2:17 p.m. He now faces charges of driving while intoxicated by drugs, careless driving causing a crash and no proof of insurance.
