Sedalia Man Injured in Sunday Afternoon Crash
A Sedalia man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday afternoon in Pettis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2001 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 62-year-old Danny E. Cosby of Sedalia, was at Highway H and Elliott Road just before 1 p.m., when the Jeep ran off the right side of the roadway, traveled through a ditch, struck the ground, and came to rest facing north.
Cosby suffered moderate injuries and was transported by PCAD to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
The Jeep had minor damage and was towed by State Fair Towing.
Pettis County Deputies assisted the three Troopers on scene.
Cosby was later arrested by the Patrol at 1:21 p.m. He now faces charges of felony driving while intoxicated persistent offender, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in an accident, and no seat belt.
