Sedalia Concert Band to Perform with Patriotic Theme July 2

The Sedalia Concert Band will perform at Convention Hall in Liberty Park on Thursday, July 2 starting at 7 p.m. with the theme “America 250.”

The location was originally set for downtown, but was moved indoors due to extreme heat predicted for this week.

The listing of the songs for this performance includes The Star Spangled Banner, American Visions, Irving Berlin’s Songs For America, Let Freedom Ring, Band In the Square, March of the Armed Forces, 1812 Overture, Stars & Stripes, United We Stand, America 250, Heartland March, Battle Cry of Freedom, and God Bless America.

The band is led by director Sandy Green.

Richard DeFord is the band's emcee and also leads the singing of the National Anthem and God Bless America.

The public is invited to attend and bring their lawn chairs.
