Double Fatality on US Highway 50

A head-on crash killed two Pettis County residents on Tuesday night.

According to the MSHP, an eastbound 1998 Chevy Silverado, driven by a 58-year-old man from Smithton, was on US 50, west of Monsees Road just before 11:30 p.m., when the Silverado traveled into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck a westbound 2021 Jeep Wrangler, driven by a 45-year-old woman from Green Ridge.

Both drivers were pronounced deceased on scene by PCAD personnel at 11:42 p.m.

Pettis County Deputies assisted the Patrol.
