The University of Central Missouri Mules football team dramatically won the Heritage Bowl on Saturday, December 7, 2024, beating the Falcons of the University of Texas Permian Basin 39-37 in double overtime.

Zach Zebrowski, a redshirt senior quarterback, scored a one-yard rushing touchdown and followed it with a two-point conversion pass to Derrick Rose. The win gave the Mules a 9-3 season, making it their sixth nine-win season in program history.

Zebrowski delivered a stellar performance. He completed 20 of 47 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for a career-high 138 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries. His efforts included leading a crucial 14-play, 94-yard drive in the final minutes of regulation to tie the game at 28-28. Zebrowski's efforts led to him being named the game's Most Outstanding Player.

Wide receiver Derrick Rose had two touchdown receptions and 129 yards on six catches. Running back LaAngelo Bell and receiver Hogan Wasson contributed with key rushing and receiving yardage, respectively. On defense, Austin Bressler led with six tackles, while Reyjon Williams and Jevean Brown added five tackles each.

The teams traded field goals in the first overtime. In the second overtime, the Falcons scored first but failed on a two-point conversion, setting up Zebrowski's double overtime heroics.

Zebrowski concludes his UCM football career as one of the Mule's all-time greats, ranking second in passing yards and total offense. Standout players for the University of Texas Permian Basin include quarterback Isaac Mooring and receiver Jeremiah Cooley, who combined for 337 passing yards and two touchdowns.
