‘In Her Shoes’ Event Raises Over $111K for CASA
From Julie Hoffert, Director of Development for CASA:
"On behalf of Citizens Against Spouse Abuse, Inc. (CASA), I wish to thank you for making our 8th Annual In Her Shoes a fun and successful event. It was fun seeing all the creativity that went into everyone’s costumes. In Her Shoes was filled with an abundance of prizes and auction items all thanks to our many sponsors. Thank you for your continued support.
Our sponsors have consistently supported our mission to empower domestic and sexual violence survivors to regain control of their lives through education, advocacy, and coordination of community resources. This support extends beyond In Her Shoes to include our annual 5K event, Adopt-A-Family Christmas wish list campaign, and of Domestic Violence Shelter Tax Credit Program. Your many contributions enable us to help those who most need it.
Heather Blanchard has been the presenting sponsor for In Her Shoes for four consecutive years. She is always there to help with ideas, suggestions, and overall support of this event. Her contributions have positively impacted our organization and numerous survivors in our community.
In Her Shoes requires many months of planning with meetings leading up to the event. None of this would have been possible without all of our dedicated volunteers and Development Committee members. The selflessly donated their time and talent to ensure the success of this event.
This year’s Mr. In Her Shoes contestants did not disappoint. Since August 2024, Corey Bond, Joe Parnell, and Patrick “PJ” Ximinies “aka Mr. X” worked hard to raise awareness of and money for CASA. Each gentleman toured our facility, met with our staff, learned about CASA’s history, and researched the dynamics of rape and abuse. They held several individual fundraising events to support their bid to become Mr. In Her Shoes 2024. They further hosted a CASA day at El Tapatio that raised over $1500.
These guys rallied the colleagues, friends, and family for support of CASA and raised over $18,000! We are forever grateful for all of the efforts. Though they are all stand up men, worthy of the title, Corey Bond was crowned Mr. In Her Shoes 2024 at the end of the event. Congratulations, Corey.
As we work on finalizing the numbers, it looks like our 8th Annual In Her Shoes has surpassed all past events by raising over $111,000. Every year, this event continues to grow with additional sponsors, supporters. Our community is strong and generous! Whether you are a big or small business or an individual, you do make a difference.
