Glenn Road Bridge to Close Friday at Noon
The Pettis County Commission has announced that the Glenn Road Bridge will be closed by Friday, Aug. 14 at noon following a recent inspection by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT).
The County has been closely monitoring the bridge for the past two years, with MoDOT conducting inspections approximately every six months. During that time, the Commission has explored options to safely extend the bridge's service life while also preparing for its eventual replacement.
In preparation for the bridge’s replacement, in 2024 the Commission initiated plans for a complete replacement of the bridge through the Bridge Replacement Off-System (BRO) program. The project is anticipated to go out for Plans, Specifications & Estimates (PS&E) in December 2026, with the goal of going out for construction bids in early 2027.

This closure does not affect any of the proposed timelines established. This project is part of the Commission’s ongoing commitment to proactively identify and address deficient bridges before immediate action is required. The work already underway on the Glenn Road bridge replacement is a testament to that commitment.
The Commission said they appreciates the public’s patience as they move forward with this important infrastructure improvement and will provide additional information regarding the closure as it becomes available.
