When Will The Soaring Temps Break In West Central Missouri?
As I write this, the heat index in Sedalia during the three-o'clock hour is 106 degrees. In Warrensburg, it's 108 degrees. In Boonville, it's 110 degrees. So when will the extreme heat give us a break in West Central Missouri?
The National Weather Service has some of our area, including Sedalia and Warrensburg, under a Heat Advisory until tonight at 8:00 PM CDT. Boonville is under one until tomorrow night, August 27, 2024, at 8:00 PM CDT. It surprises me our Heat Advisory isn't continuing through tomorrow because it won't be much cooler.
The National Weather Service in Kansas City forecasts hot and humid conditions through tomorrow, with highs in the mid to upper 90s and heat index values ranging from 100 to 110.
So when will the extreme temperatures subside? Wednesday. Most of West Central Missouri will experience plain ol hot weather starting Wednesday, with highs expected in the lower 90s.
The real story, however, is for our Labor Day weekend if the forecast is correct. According to Weatherology, Friday's high is predicted to be around 82, followed by highs around 84 on Saturday and Sunday. Weatherology hasn't posted a Labor Day forecast yet; however, the National Weather Service's predicted high is 80.
So all we need to do is soldier on through most of this week, and then, at least for the long weekend, we'll have some great weather, at least temperature-wise!
