Gunshot Wound Sparks Drug Trafficking Investigation In Clinton
The Clinton Police Department reports that a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound victim has sparked a drug trafficking investigation. This is according to a post on the Clinton Missouri Police Department Facebook page.
Clinton Police were advised of a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound victim that had gone to the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Emergency Department on Sunday, August 21, 2022. During the course of their investigation police learned the incident began at a residence in the 200 block of East Oak Street.
A large quantity of suspected methamphetamine was found in possession of the gunshot wound victim, which led police to secure a search warrant for the original residence. That search turned up evidence of suspected drug activity as well as possible weapon violations.
Clinton Police say the investigation is ongoing and no one has been formally charged at this time.
