Uncover The Truth: Are Your Kids Experimenting With Drugs?
Parents, how confident are you that you'd know if your kids are experimenting with drugs? Warrensburg Police have a new interactive presentation, "Hidden In Plain Sight," that will help you be equipped with knowledge on how to spot signs of substance abuse.
The presentation includes opportunities for parents to learn about current trends in social media that their kids may be exposed to and information that can help parents spot signs of substance abuse.
Additionally, the presentation includes a mock teen bedroom, where parents will find a multitude of substance abuse-related paraphernalia that are often hidden in plain sight. As well as other helpful information concerning drug paraphernalia and concealment of alcohol and drugs.
Warrensburg Police, Warrensburg R6 School District, and Recovery Lighthouse are presenting this interactive presentation on Wednesday, September 26, 2024, in the auditorium at Warrensburg High School from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM CDT.
This educational presentation is designed for parents/guardians and is not intended for students or children. Due to the program's contents, no children or students will be permitted to attend.
For more information about "Hidden In Plain Sight," contact School Resource Officer Cpl. Miller at 660-262-4561 or email emma.miller@warrensburg-mo.com. You can check out the Facebook event page here.
Warrensburg Police are also asking residents to be aware that school is back in session and that we all need to do our part to keep students safe by slowing down and staying alert in school zones and on routes where kids may be walking to or from school.
