Walmart Drone Delivery Is Arriving in Missouri
It's no secret that even big chain stores like Walmart have to find a way to compete with online giants like Amazon. Part of that effort is to expand the availability of deliveries by drone and that is now reportedly ready to take flight in Missouri.
I just saw that drone delivery company Wing has now announced that their partnership with Walmart has now expanded to 150 new stores coast-to-coast. They announced in their press release that "new service areas will include major metropolitan hubs such as: Los Angeles, St. Louis, Cincinnati, and Miami, with others to be announced later." A user on TikTok decided to test the new drone service from Walmart and noticed they are very large vehicles.
While it's not mentioned by Wing yet, I have to believe that Kansas City will be the next Missouri location to receive Walmart drone delivery options. I have to wonder how long it will be before this type of package delivery method is expanded to smaller areas in Missouri beyond the metros. While the technology is expensive, you have to realize that Walmart and Wing are doing this without having to employ delivery drivers. I'm never happy when technology replaces people, but that's the sad reality of how many businesses are improving the bottom line these days. This is the future and it appears to be landing in Missouri sooner rather than later.
