
Saks in St. Louis, Missouri Closing, 65 Workers to Lose Jobs
The announcement of a major fashion brand in St. Louis, Missouri will result in the job loss for 65 workers as Saks Fifth Avenue will be closing in May.
According to the Missouri Jobs site, 65 workers will be laid off by Saks Fifth Avenue located at 1 Plaza Frontenac Street in St. Louis, Missouri. The WARN notice submitted to the state of Missouri by the human resources representative from Saks Fifth Avenue said the following about the store closure which appears to be set for the end of May this year:
"This letter is to inform you that Saks & Company LLC will be conducting layoffs as a result of the closure of the Saks Fifth Avenue store located at 1 Plaza Frontenac Street, Saint Louis, MO 63131. The entire facility will close and all employees will be separated from employment between May 6 and May 31, 2026. This closure is expected to be permanent."
According to the state of Missouri employment numbers, this new layoff by Saks Fifth Avenue will bring the total laid off in the state by companies big enough to require WARN notices to 482 in 2026 so far. Let's hope those at the St. Louis, Missouri store affected by this new layoff will end up in better situations soon.
