Map Shows Missouri Ozarks Are Packed With Vacation Homes
It's no secret that the Missouri Ozarks are filled with some extravagant vacation homes, but did you know that region of the state has more than just about any part of America? A new map reveals that's true.
I just came across this fun map share on the Missouri sub-Reddit. Entitled "Hello Lake of the Ozarks", it shows the places in America that have the highest concentration of vacation homes. Notice that part of Missouri is prominently featured.
How many vacation homes are in the Missouri Ozarks?
AirDNA estimates there are more than 1,100 active short-term vacation rentals in that region of Missouri. Home2Go estimates even more than that saying 4,676 total vacation rentals listed total vacation properties depending on the specific surrounding towns included (such as Osage Beach, Sunrise Beach, and Camdenton)." I think even that number is conservative when you factor in the number of people who own homes that they only use during certain months of the year or for weekend getaways that aren't available for rent.
The bottom line is that southern Missouri has become a boom region for those who want to get away from it all, but don't want to stay in an Airbnb or hotel. Having a place where you can stay within 4 walls that you own is the way to go if you have the coins to make it happen.
