We're still early in 2026, but already there's a UFO report that involves color-changing lights that appear and disappeared in the sky over Missouri. It's worth noting that this brand new report comes from an individual who has a background in the aviation industry and has seen just about every type of aircraft imaginable.

This new eyewitness account on the National UFO Reporting Center site is an odd one. According to the description, it happened the night of January 4, 2026 just after 8:30pm near Belle, Missouri. The eyewitness said this in his report:

"Four different colored lights, appearing and disappearing in a small area of sky. Sometimes showing up large/ bright before vanishing...The entire time I watched, the three different colored lights would appear, fly in all different directions, even sometimes heading east to the point I could see them getting closer, before vanishing, while the fourth continued slowly moving around in it's own small area."

The person goes on to add that they had not been consuming alcohol or any types of drugs. They said they have a background in the aviation industry and understand what a normal plane or drone looks like. They also mentioned that these lights made a sound at times. When I see reports like this, the first thing I check are nearby airports or military bases. If you're not familiar with Belle, Missouri, it's more than 2 hours to the east of Whiteman Air Force Base.

The location of this report is also more than an hour to the northeast of Fort Leonard Wood, too.

The final note on the report added that they've seen weird lights over Belle, Missouri before, but not in this part of the sky. By definition, this is the first confirmed UFO report for 2026 since there's no explanation yet as to what this person witnessed.
