Missouri Sex Offender Busted, Sentenced to 15 Years
Do bad things. Face consequences. That's the story for a Missouri sex offender who will now spend 15 years behind bars for terrible things he did that involved images of children.
The FBI in St. Louis shared this update on their Facebook page about a 25-year-old Missouri man who now faces a decade and a half behind bars
The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Missouri shared additional details of what happened in this case. It says Cody Moore, 25, pleaded guilty in September in U.S. District Court in St. Louis to one count of receiving child pornography using a Kik social media account. A brave soul from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children submitted a tip that led to the investigation that busted Moore. They learned that Audrain County was investigating him at the same time for failing to register as a sex offender. After Moore was arrested, many images of girls being abused were found on his phone and in his accounts.
This case was investigated by the FBI, the Boone County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office as a part of Project Safe Childhood which is meant to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
