Claim: Missouri Drowned Giants Under Man-Made Lakes in 1930’s
Since I was born and raised in Missouri, I've heard stories as long as I can remember telling of giants that used to inhabit caves in the southwestern part of the state. But, there's a new claim I've just come across that says that there was a race of these large beings that were purposely drowned under man-made lakes during the 1930's.
I want to be clear that this is not some tall tale that I've just made up, but a brand new share by the Mysteries of the Ages YouTube channel. Based on their new video, someone from Clinton, Missouri commented about a man-made lake in that area controlled by the US Army Corp of Engineers. The assertion is that the reason that the Army Corp of Engineers controls these lakes isn't because of flood control, but because these lakes hide ancient civilizations that were purposely hidden under the waters and that includes the legends of giants in the Missouri Ozarks.
They say that Lake of the Ozarks, Table Rock Lake, Bull Shoals and Truman Lake were all created by dams for recreational opportunities, but that's not where their story ends. The video asserts that in the decades before those lakes were created there were records of giant skeletons found in that region that were covered up by these artificial lakes.
This isn't the first theory brought forward saying giants were a part of Missouri's history. I shared a book about new research into evidence of southwestern Missouri giants a few weeks ago. The Why Files has looked into evidence of giants in Missouri and other places, too. The History Channel even created an episode about these ancient beings that were in the Missouri Ozarks including newspaper clippings from the early 1900's confirming reports. I don't know what to think about this new theory that man-made lakes in Missouri were partially created in an effort to hide this evidence underwater, but I was always told that where there's a lot of smoke, there's likely fire, too.
