Missouri Authorities Discover Human Remains on Property
A discovery on private property in Missouri has sparked an investigation. A resident found human remains and now law enforcement is trying to learn how and why those bones ended up there.
The Wright County, Missouri Sheriff's Office just shared an update this week on what happened when a resident contacted them after skeletal remains were discovered.
In case you can't read the small print from the letter posted on their social media share, here's exactly what the Wright County Sheriff's Office said:
"On March 2, 2026, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a resident near Macomb regarding the discovery of skeletal remains on private property. Investigators responded and confirmed the remains to be human skeletal remains. Based on the initial assessment, the remains appear to be old. The identity of the deceased is currently unknown. There is no danger to the public, and this appears to be an isolated discovery. The remains have been transported for further forensic examination and identification. The investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available."
It could take some time before DNA analysis reveals the possibility identity of the skeleton that was found. As this is a developing story, it will be updated once new information is released.
