As a lifelong Missourian, I am of the opinion that every highway and byway across the state has a personality, some worse than others. That's especially true during the summer months where there are certain highways and interstates that travelers seem to dread driving on the most.

When you look at traffic incidents in Missouri, you'll see that nearly 30% happen during the summer months. Based on crash data and numerous other metrics including reviews by drivers who travel to and/or through Missouri, here are the 10 highways they say they dread the most.

Insurance agencies urge caution during the 100 days of summer in Missouri. There are tens of thousands of accidents on Missouri roads, highways and interstates from June through August. That makes travel across Missouri during the summer perilous at times. When you consider the unpredictable weather in the Show Me State, that adds another level of difficulty to an already challenging time of year.
