Glass Hazard Triggers Coffee Recall in Missouri
Why does it seem that most product recalls involve food or drinks that are among the favorites? A coffee product widely-available at Dollar Store locations in Missouri is now under and urgent recall due to the potential presence of glass in the grounds.
This new bulletin from the Food and Drug Administration warns of a customer who contacted Dollar General to let them know that glass was found in their coffee. The brand in question is Clover Valley® Instant Coffee with a label that looks like this.
The product UPC code to look for is 876941004069 with a best by date of either December 13, 2026 or December 14, 2026. It was delivered to Missouri stores between July 9 through July 21 and may very well be on someone's shelf right now. The feds warn that consuming this coffee that may contain glass could cause "damage to teeth, laceration of the mouth and throat, or perforation of the intestine". The good news is that no injuries have been reported as of the date of this writing.
What do you do if you find you have this recalled coffee?
Dollar General says you can call them at 1-888-309-9030 from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. central time any day of the week or you can return the product to one of their Missouri stores for a full refund.
