Emily Blunt portrays a TV meteorologist in Kansas City, Missouri. We don't know much about the plot yet, but the synopsis on IMDb says "If you found out we weren't alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you?" According to what the first trailer reveals, it appears that Emily Blunt's character is key in the reveal of the "alien" presence. I saw many on the Missouri sub-Reddit mention the apparent Missouri connection.

I find it curious that Steven Spielberg has chosen a Midwestern backdrop for his new alien flick instead of a major coastal city like Los Angeles or New York like was done in the classic 1996 flick "Independence Day". My guess is that we'll get at least 1 or 2 more trailers prior to the movie's theatrical debut on June 12, 2026. How much of Missouri will be featured in the new Steven Spielberg movie? We'll find out in just a few months.
