This Scratch-Made Missouri Chicken Sandwich Rules the Roost
Would you agree that it's really difficult to say one food is better than another since that's such a subjective thing? That's definitely how I feel. However, there is a new ranking of the best chicken sandwiches and the choice for Missouri seems to be spot-on according to many as it is literally scratch-made and hiding in a foundry.
This month, Love Food chose the best chicken sandwich in each state and I found it curious that their choice for Missouri is from a tiny place that apparently has added a rather big taste to their chicken creations. They say the state's best chicken sandwich comes from Chicken Scratch in the St. Louis Foundry that was started by Nate and Christine Hereford. They say that Chicken Scratch was "born out of the desire to offer delicious, seasonal food that replicates home cooked family dinners". They added that it's the seasoned rub they apply to their chicken that sets them apart from others.
There is also a BBQ chicken sandwich on the Chicken Scratch menu that is highly-praised by Yelp reviewers. Gina L left a review saying she picked up the Chicken Scratch Dry Rub.
Gina L on Yelp: "I've been using Chicken Scratch Dry Rub on chicken and fish, and it's a total game-changer! It's bold and flavorful without being too much, and just the right amount of kick!"
It seems that Love Food may have gotten their chicken choice right for Missouri if the faithful Foundry eaters are to be believed.
