I've been a DJ/radio host for quite a while. I started when I was a sophomore in high school and that was when we had to walk up hill five miles in the snow one way to get there, and don't get me started on what we had to do to make it home after school! So I know a few things about cranking up a song on the radio!

I think we all have a couple of favorite songs or groups that when they come on the radio in your vehicle, you reach for the volume and turn it up a few notches. They even sound better when it's a day that you can have the windows down and blare the music as your cruise down the street. Been there, right?

For me, I think it just depends on what kind of mood I'm in. Sometimes it will be a classic rock song, sometimes it's something slow, maybe even bluesy. Other times I'm cranking either a classic country song or some of the new country that we play on KIX 105.7.

We asked the question on the KIX 105.7 Facebook page "What song/artist causes you to crank up the volume?" Here's some of the responses we received:

Joyce P. G. - Def Leppard!

Jeff G. - I'm gonna hire a wino or jose Cuervo

Mandy R. - Strawberry wine

Lindsey T. - Alan Jackson

Scarlett R. - AC/DC dirty deeds

Deanna E. - Nu breed and Jesse Howard .. Welcome to my house.

Mary Lou S. - Charlie Daniels the devil went down to Georgia

I really like this response from Lacey S. - Dixie chicks, Dustin lynch, Garth brooks, Miranda lambert...Basically everything y’all play

And of course we couldn't end our list of songs/groups without the all-time classic mentioned by Anita V. S. - Freebird

How can you go wrong with Lynyrd Skynrd?
