An Iowa man drowned at the Lake of the Ozarks Wednesday night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

50-year-old Chris A. Oliver of Indianaola, Iowa, was a passenger on a boat operated by 49-year-old Chadwick E. Cooper of Ankeny, Iowa.

The 1989 Formula 292 had just docked, and Oliver attempted to step from the vessel to the dock, but fell in the water and did not resurface, according to the report.

Oliver was later pronounced dead at 11:58 p.m. by Camden County Medical Examiner Crystal Lloyd. The body was taken to Hedges-Scott Funeral Home.

The incident occurred at the 3.7 mile marker of the Grand Glaize arm of the lake in Camden County.
