Anyone interested in participating in the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Sedalia is invited to a meeting at the Sedalia Best Western conference room on Tuesday at 5:30.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s chair Jessica Snell said that the meeting will cover last-minute walk preparations, bank night, logistics of the Walk to End Alzheimer's, and will provide information for anyone that would like to register a team. Volunteers are also needed to work during the Walk to End Alzheimer's, which will be at the Missouri State Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 10.

"We're at 20% of our goal. We've raised $7,565, so far," said Linda Fisher, a member of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s committee. The goal for this year's campaign is $37,000. "20% of our goal at this point is pretty good. A lot of the money comes in in the last few days before the walk. Right now we have 20 teams, but there will probably be other teams that show up the day of the walk, or individuals. People can walk as individuals if they don't want to walk on a team."

Walk to End Alzheimer's supporter WyAnn Lipps would like to remind the community that everyone is welcome to participate in the walk. "It doesn't cost anything to come out and walk. If you do donate $100, you will get a shirt, but you don't have to pay anything to come out and walk. It's free."

Jessica Snell says walkers are able to register now, and walk-up registration will be available on the day of the walk. “Registration actually opens up at 8 a.m., the ceremony’s at 9, and the walk starts at 9:30.”
