A Sedalia man was arrested on April 1 after a chase down US 50 at speeds reaching 100 mph. The Pettis County Sheriff's Office says the suspect vehicle fled after a deputy attempted a traffic stop for excessive, unnecessary noise. Deputies pursued the vehicle, which eventually stopped on M Highway south of McVey Rd.

The driver, identified as Carlos Manuel Flores, was arrested for driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, careless and imprudent driving, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and excessive, unnecessary noise from a motor vehicle. Flores was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail, pending the filing of formal charges.
