Happy Gilmore Is Coming To Missouri! Will We See Billy Madison Too?
You may have first come to know him when he became a cast member on Saturday Night Live. He then went on to have a very successful movie career. We can debate about the quality of the films that he made, but he made a fortune. At heart, he is a stand-up comedian who created some memorable characters on SNL and in film. And this February you can catch him in St Louis and Kansas City.
Comedian Adam Sandler will be stopping in St. Louis in 2023 after extending his tour to eleven new cities. He will be at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, MO, on Friday, February 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11 Kansas City, MO T-Mobile Center.
Tickets go on sale Friday, December 16 at livenation.com.
My first memories of Adam Sandler was on an MTV television game show called Remote Control. I will understand if you do not remember it. He created some characters including "Stud Boy" and you can see a clip below.
Now you may or not be a fan of his. Truthfully, some of his films, in my opinion, some of his films cater to the lowest common denominator. However his has grown up a bit and he was absolutely fantastic in Uncut Gems. His role as Howard Ratner garnered Sandler several nominations and awards, including winning the National Board of Review and the Independent Spirit Award.
He is now getting recognized with a pretty prestigious award. The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor has gone to such luminaries as Richard Pryor, Carl Reiner, Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, George Carlin and Ellen DeGeneres. Next year, it’s going to the guy who made us crack up as Happy Gilmore.
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts said Tuesday that Adam Sandler would receive the prestigious award at a gala on March 19.
I did enjoy his hosting gig on SNL when he also played tribute to his dear friend Chris Farley. It shows how he has grown up and matured over the years, and by most accounts, he is VERY nice and generous to people and fans.
So the tickets are going on sale this Friday. I bet it will be a better show than some people think. If you catch either of his Missouri shows, let us know how good it was.
