If you're looking for some activities to do with the kiddos this weekend that have something to do with trick or treating there is no shortage of events happening in the Sedalia and Warrensburg areas. Here's a list of some of the events going on today and tomorrow:

Events Friday October 30 

  • 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM CDT  Trick or treating at local businesses in downtown Sedalia.
  • 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM CDT Trunk or treat at World Finance on Thompson Boulevard in Sedalia. There are a variety of local businesses participating.
  • 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM CDT Trick or treating at local businesses on Holden Street in downtown Warrensburg. Participating businesses will be doing this outside their store or office.
  • 5:00 PM -7:00 PM CDT Sedalia Parks & Recreation Drive Through Trunk or Treat at Liberty Park. Participants are welcome to come in costume. Participants can also deck out their vehicle spooktacularly.

Events on Halloween 

  • 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM CDT Youth Excited About Sports (Y.E.S.) Trunk or Treat at the Y.E.S. facility in Warrensburg on Route 13. Come dressed up for candy and food.
  • 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM CDT Trunk or Treat in downtown Knob Noster.
  • 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM CDT Trunk or Treat on South Limit at Tiger Coffee. Shabby 2 Chic is also participating and of course we'll be there since it's next door to the radio stations.

There's also some Halloween themed movie screenings happening at the Galaxy Cinema and the AMC Classic 10 in Warrensburg. Some of these movies are appropriate for children, others less so. The good news, between the two theaters there is something sure to appeal to almost everyone.

Halloween Themed Movies this weekend 

The Galaxy Cinema in Sedalia has some Halloween themed movies playing this weekend including "Beetlejuice"; "Monsters, Inc."; "The Nightmare Before Christmas"; and "Hocus Pocus". All tickets for these movies are $6.00. You can get showtimes and more information here.

The AMC Classic 10 in Warrensburg, which is also only open three days a week, is screening more scary movies than the Galaxy. They are screening "The Conjuring 2"; "Poltergeist" and "Monsters, Inc." for the kids. Tickets for these films are $5.00. You can get showtimes and more information here.
