Got A Favorite Country Christmas Song? Here Were Your Choices!
Christmas is only 10 days away. Have any of you taken time to decorate your tree or wrap presents for your loved ones? Perhaps to get you into the mood, you have put on some Christmas music from your favorite country stars. So many of the biggest stars in country music have recorded Christmas tunes. I asked our listeners to choose their favorites. I will share some of them for you to enjoy and perhaps make a playlist out of them, as well as some I think you will enjoy.
Kenny Rogers & Wynonna Judd - Mary Did You Know
Country royalty here. Thank you Carol Killion for this suggestion
Do You Hear What I Hear - Martina McBride
I have had the pleasure of seeing Martina's Christmas show. For my money, one of the greatest voices that music has ever had. Period. Thank you Amanda Guffey Carroll for this recommendation.
Hard Candy Christmas - Dolly Parton
Our National Treasure. Who doesn't love Dolly. This one is high on many lists. Thank you Jerod-Rebecca Embry.
SHeDaisy - Deck The Halls
This is one of my favorites. The sisters Osborn aka SHeDaisy. Their harmonies are fantastic in this rendition and they were very popular in the late 90's and early 2000's. Check out their greatest hits package, and I bet you will recognize more tunes than you thought.
George Strait - Christmas Cookies
Can't really go wrong with anything from King George can you? Thank you Sherryl Lloyd Gatewood for recommending this one.
Alabama - Christmas In Dixie
It has been covered by several country artist including Jason Aldean and Kenny Chesney. We like the original from Alabama. Thank you Cheri Hopkins for this recommendation.
Rascal Flatts - I'll Be Home For Christmas
Their harmonies are un-mistakeable. Another favorite of mine. They added this tune to their greatest hits album. Show a little love for Rascal Flatts this holiday.
Jeff Foxworthy - Redneck 12 Days Of Christmas
Certainly will give you a few laughs this holiday, courtesy of Jeff Foxworthy. I wonder how much these 12 items will run this year? Give Jason Mullineaux the nod for this choice.
Garth Brooks - Silent Night
Jake Dowler gave us this suggestion, and we are 100% on board with any recommendation of Garth Brooks.
Brett Eldredge - A Holly Jolly Christmas
His Christmas album 'Glow' is a must in your music library around Christmas time. He is becoming Mr. Christmas as far a country music is concerned.
Toby Keith - Little Drummer Boy
I remember when he released his Christmas albums. One was more classic, one was more Christian. Both are great to listen to. Nice choice from Geneva Haven
Luke Bryan - Run Rudolph Run
This song has always been a favorite of mine. It has been covered by Bryan Adams, Lemmy, Sheryl Crow and originally done by Chuck Berry. I think Luke does a solid version of it.
Little Big Town - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Another group with amazing harmonies and this group always delivers. Sending well wishes to all of you. Thank you Little Big Town!
