The Good Old Fashioned Fourth of July had amazing weather and great turnout this year. “This year we've had a more steady stream of visitors with the great weather we've had,” said event coordinator Terry Cockrell. "Last year the temperatures were above 100 degrees, and this year it was a lot more pleasant in the 70s and 80s."

This year's event started with a parade in Downtown Sedalia, then made its way to Centennial Park from 11a.m. to 4 p.m. The entertainment this year was a gospel band out of Sweet Springs called Gospel Expressions. While many gathered around the shelter to eat hot dogs, chips and have a drink, the band played throughout the festival.

There were over 1100 hot dogs served by volunteers throughout the day. Families took their kids to the playground, walked around the park and threw footballs. Everyone seemed to have a good time.
