The New ‘Ghostbusters’ Cast Visited a Children’s Hospital in Costume
Recently, Chris Pratt and Chris Evans visited children’s hospitals in costume as their superhero characters, followed by Johnny Depp dressing as Jack Sparrow and doing the same. And now the cast of Paul Feig’s new Ghostbusters movie have been inspired to use their fame for good, visiting the kids at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
Tufts posted photos of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon on their Facebook and Twitter pages, showing the cast posing with patients and their loved ones at the hospital. The hospital expressed gratitude in their Facebook post with, “Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center patients got a huge surprise today when Ghostbusters stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones came to visit! Thank you for taking the time out of filming today to put a big smile on our patients faces! #WhoYouGonnaCall #Ghostbusters”
In one of the photos, the hospital noted that although the patient was not allowed visitors, she still wanted a photo with the Ghostbusters, so the ladies posed outside her room. The photos also show off the ladies’ new gear, including their work outfits and proton packs, giving us a more casual and less polished look at the team.
As is to be sadly expected, there were many comments on the Facebook photos from people who disapprove of Paul Feig’s film, detracting from the team’s wonderful charitable act. What kind of people leave these comments on a page for a children’s hospital? Come on, humanity. Get it together.
Ghostbusters hits theaters on July 22, 2016, whether you like it or not.
