Sedalia's very own Senior Pastor Candace Fowler from First United Methodist Church of Sedalia, gave the invocation and sang the national anthem during opening ceremonies for the POWRi Races.

The world champion robotics team from Smith-Cotton High School stayed busy firing T-shirts into the crowd of race fans. The T-shirts flew higher than the top of the grandstand before falling into the hands of fans delighted to receive a freebie during the races.

It appeared that a couple of the shirts, however, achieved such an altitude that they actually landed on the roof of the State Fair grandstand, where they remain today.
