With freezing weather potentially impacting our area early next week Knob Noster State Park is closing some structures and amenities to protect some of their infrastructure.

According to the park's Facebook page the following structures / amenities will be closed starting Tuesday, October 29:

  • Shower House 1
  • Clearfork Day-Use Area Restroom
  • The campgrounds dump station hydrant
  • WPA Day-Use Area Restroom
  • Most water fountains and hydrants in the park

Water fountans and hydrants between sites two and three in the campground will still be open.

In other news from Knob Noster State park, the Clearfork Creek clean up is still on tomorrow. Volunteers are asked to dress appropriately for the chilly weather. If you'd like to volunteer you can show up in the special use camping area at 9:00AM CDT. Water shoes, work gloves and clothes that can get wet are recommended. Please bring your own water bottle and lunch.

All trails are also open for hiking this weekend, although the McAdoo Trail is closed for equestrian users and the Opossum Hollow Trail is closed to bicyclists. Trails are expected to be open for normal use Monday October 28.
