Multiple Arrests After Drug Bust in Sedalia

Authorities made several arrests after serving a drug-related search warrant in the early morning hours of June 30 in the 500 block of North Stewart.

According to a press release from the Sedalia Police Department, officers forced entry through the front door and made contact with several people inside. All were taken into custody without incident. A K9 officer alerted to the odor of illegal drugs in numerous places throughout the residence. Methamphetamine, prescription pills, and drug paraphernalia were reportedly discovered. Police say additional evidence revealed that three people who lived in the home were distributing meth.

39-year-old Angel D. Thomas, 37-year-old Everett "Frankie" Smith, 47-year-old Cynthia A. Obrien-Gibler and 26-year-old Robert D. Puckett were all arrested on various charges, ranging from possession of a controlled substance to possession with the intent to distribute.

On June 30th, 2017, at approximately 0430 hours, detectives with the drug enforcement unit, criminal investigations bureau and patrol officers responded to 512 North Stewart Avenue to serve a no knock drug related search warrant. Upon arrival at the residence, entry was forced through the front door, where contact was made with numerous subjects inside. All the subjects were taken into custody without incident.

Officers with the K9 unit performed a sniff of the residence with K9 “Charlie”, where he alerted to the odor of illegal drugs in numerous places throughout the residence. A detailed search of these areas revealed methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia. Additional evidence located during the investigation revealed three subjects who resided in the home were distributing methamphetamine.

As a result of the investigation, four suspects were arrested and placed on 24 hour holds pending state charges. The suspects and charges are as follows:
