Former Warsaw, MO Athlete Chosen in MLB Draft
Who would've known that back in the day, a young baseball player from Warsaw, Missouri would some day be drafted by a Major League Baseball team.
The 2018 Major League Baseball Draft was calling and Jeremy Eierman answered. The former Missouri State all-American, and Warsaw High School graduate was chosen in the second round (Competitive Balance B) of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft Monday evening. The Oakland A's selected the shortstop with the 70th selection overall in the second-round.
Eierman hit .287 with 10 home runs and 49 RBI's in his 2018 junior season.
He earned several selections to all-America teams as a sophomore. The Warsaw native last year batted .313 with 23 home runs and 68 RBIs, leading the Bears to the NCAA Super Regionals
Perfect Game USA rated him as the No. 3 shortstop out of high school in the country in 2015. He played for Team USA in 2017.
