Experience Archery or Kayaking at Knob Noster State Park
Have you ever wanted to learn the basics of archery? Or learn what it's like to Kayak? Missouri State Parks has an opportunity to learn the basics of both, and it's affordable and designed for the whole family.
Learn 2 Aim is Missouri State Parks archery program. According to Missouri State Parks:
This is a great opportunity to learn new skills with joint instruction on the basics of archery and atlatl throwing. The program is free and available to ages 10 and up.
Missouri State Parks provide bows, atlatls, targets and instructors. Participants must be over 10 years of age, and those under 17 must come with a parent or guardian (the parent or guardian doesn't need to participate. Event dates are Monday June 7 1:00PM - 3:00PM CDT, Monday July 26 3:00PM - 5:00PM CDT, Monday August 16 3:00PM - 5:00PM CDT and Tuesday September 7 from 3:00PM -5:00PM CDT. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and closed toe shoes.
Learn 2 Paddle is Missouri State Parks kayak instruction program. In this program participants will learn:
how to paddle and have a safe and enjoyable time on the water.
Missouri State parks will provide kayak, paddle, life jacket, and instructors. Participants for Learn 2 Paddle must be 10 years of age. And participants between the ages of 10 -14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the entire program. And participants should be comfortable around water. Event dates are Tuesday June 22 1:00PM - 3:00PM CDT, Tuesday July 13 from 3:00PM - 5:00PM CDT, Tuesday August 24 10:00AM -12:00PM CDT, Tuesday September 28 3:00PM - 5:00PM CDT. Participants in this program should wear appropriate foot wear and swimwear. Closed toed shoes with a back that participants don't mind getting wet are recommended.
Missouri State Parks says participants in both programs need to follow Missouri State Parks rules and regulations. They also note that both programs are family oriented and no tobacco or alcohol products may be consumed while participating in the programs
