A benefit for Gary Wahlers, who is battling ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, will be held Sunday, April 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stover Community Center, 600 Legion Drive.
Wahlers is a life-long Stover resident and worked as an auto mechanic. He was also served on the Stover school board and a an associate of the Parish Ministry.
A pulled pork meal meal will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a freewill donation.
A silent auction will also be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a live auction will begin at 1 p.m.
