Dustin Lynch is sharing a glimpse of his upcoming third album album, with a little help from Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild. Readers can press play above to hear a song called "Love Me or Leave Me Alone," a slow, questioning tune.

Lynch began playing "Love Me or Leave Me Alone" for live audiences last fall while he was on the road with Luke Bryan's Kill the Lights Tour, and the song received a warm welcome from fans. The tune is a slow waltz, a turn from both the upbeat "Small Town Boy" and "Seein' Red," Lynch's first two singles off of his next album.

"I've been holding this in / From the very first kiss / I've been losing my mind / Trying to keep up like this," Lynch sings in "Love Me or Leave Me Alone," as Fairchild adds harmonies. "But we both know that there comes a time / And I hate to sound harsh or unkind / But love me or leave me alone / Hold me or just let me go / 'Cause I've had this fight for so long / So, baby, love me, love me, love me or leave me alone."

The lyrics of "Love Me or Leave Me Alone" beg for a release from a long game of playing hard to get, set to a melancholy melody. That's fitting, as Lynch calls his upcoming album, Current Mood, the "most personal release I have done."

“This album is a glimpse into the last three years of my life … the travel, the adventures, the relationships and the personal growth,” he adds.

"Love Me or Leave Me Alone is available for download now. Current Mood is due out on Sept. 8.
