Do You Have A Favorite Summer Song?
Since we've had more time to listen to the radio with the coronavirus knocking many of out previously planned activities this summer, you either have come up with a new go-to song or you're going back to one of your all-time favorites.
We all have a favorite song or artist that causes us to grab for the volume when it comes on the radio. Since Summer is officially here, what song/artist is it that makes you crank it up?
The 60's, 70's, 80's...today's latest songs. We all have the music of our childhood...particularly, our high school years, that causes a rush of memories that invade our cerebral cortex with only one or two notes or words.
Whether it was from an AM transistor radio, the car stereo, a boombox or a walkman, we've pretty much all had the experience of growing up with music drifting in and out of summers past.
You know the feeling...a smile rushes over your face, you get that tingly feeling on the back of your neck as you crain to hear every note. It's your life...your history...what has helped to mold you and make you what you are today.
What would we do without those favorite Summer songs? "Good Vibrations" by The Beach Boys, "In The Summertime" by Mungo Jerry, "Summer In The City" by the Lovin' Spoonful, and "Saturday In The Park" by Chicago. Those are just a few of the songs that I used to listen to on my transistor radio.
What songs do you remember from Summers past?
