It was only a matter of time until it happened: On Monday night (June 5), Dierks Bentley performed the National Anthem prior to puck drop of Game 4 in the Nashville Predators vs. Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup Final series.
Readers can press play above to watch Bentley's National Anthem for the Predators' big game. The country star is a longtime Preds fan and season ticketholder; he was cheering on the team during their final Western Conference Final game vs. the Anaheim Ducks, despite losing his voice and being on vocal rest.
The Nashville Predators’ National Anthem singers during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs have, thus far, all been country stars: Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan sang the Anthem during the Preds’ two home Round 1 playoff games, while Little Big Town, Vince Gill and his daughters Jenny and Corinna and Lady Antebellum sang during Round 2. For Nashville's three home games during Round 3, the Western Conference Final series, Keith Urban, Kelly Clarkson and Trisha Yearwood did the honors. Martina McBride performed before puck drop of the Predators first Stanley Cup Final home game, on Saturday (June 3).
Prior to Game 4, the Predators were trailing the Pittsburgh Penguins two games to one. Game 5 will take place on Thursday (June 8) in Pittsburgh; should the series go to six games, the Preds will also host that matchup, on Sunday (June 11).
Bentley is currently out on the road for his 2017 What the Hell World Tour.
