I talk about it a lot, but it's because it's something I'm really interested in: local music. I used to see a lot of local bands when I lived in Michigan, but I had lived there for 10 years and I knew everybody. Well, now I'm new to town, so I really don't know the local music scene at all. Luckily I found out about something that can help me with that: Band Night at Dickie Doo BBQ.

Starting up tonight (Sept.18), Dickie Doo will hold Band Night on two Wednesday nights every month, kicking off at 8:00 p.m. and running until 11:00 p.m. Anyone is welcome to come play, including solo acts, and sound equipment is provided. Artists will play in 30 minute blocks.

If you're interested in playing at Band Night, you can call Rick at (660) 221-4637 and schedule an opportunity to play.  Jam nights will continue at Dickie Doo on Thursday nights for musicians who want to just show up and play with other players.

I'm really excited that Dickie Doo is starting up Band Night. Back home in Michigan, we had a band night at one of the restaurants there and it was awesome. You can really find some great music at these kind of things. I'm looking forward to discovering some local music here in Sedalia and just getting out and having a good time. Maybe I'll see you there!
