David Lee Murphy + Kenny Chesney’s ‘Everything’s Gonna Be Alright’ Is an Optimistic Look at Life [Listen]
David Lee Murphy enlisted the help of Kenny Chesney for his infectious new single, "Everything's Gonna Be Alright." The most added song of the week at country radio, "Everything's Gonna Be Alright" is an optimistic look at life filled with a reggae vibe and Murphy's smooth singing style.
“It’s crazy, but it’s awesome,” Murphy says in a press release of the song's instant success. “We all believed in this song. Heck, Kenny came in and sang on it with me – because it felt so good. When we listened to the playback, we thought we had something. Hearing we had 50 stations, it lets you know people do hear what you hear.”
In a world where it has become increasingly difficult to turn on the news, Murphy's new single reassures listeners that, "nobody's gotta worry about nothin/ don't go hittin' that panic button / it ain't near as bad as you think / everything's gonna be alright."
“When David Lee sent me the song, it was such a great groove, it hooked me immediately. But what it says – and how it said it – is one of those sentiments for the times," Chesney explains. "We can all benefit from slowing down and trying to break the momentum, trust the universe and let go of what’s got a hold of us.”
“You watch the news, it’s rough,” Murphy says. “You can get caught in that, or step back and trust life. Sometimes, a deep breath changes everything.”
