We already knew that a heat wave was incoming for Missouri and much of the Midwest early next week, but now the National Weather Service is sounding the alarm that temperatures and the heat index are now expected to rise to dangerous levels.

While we'll begin to feel the heat of warmer temperatures this weekend, the National Weather Service in Saint Louis, Missouri just issued this bulletin this morning about what is now expected to happen in the state beginning Monday.

There is a definite increase in expected high temperatures in Missouri beginning Monday. Just a few days ago, the forecast highs were "only" in the low 90's. Look at what the official National Weather Service forecast calls for now.

The good news is it shouldn't last long as the temperatures should begin to drop again by midweek. However, both Monday and Tuesday should be taken as extreme heat danger days where hydration will be extra important while paying attention to signs that your body is becoming too hot.
