Dan + Shay turned to Kelly Clarkson to lend her voice to a new song titled "Keeping Score," and the results will thrill their fans.

The hot country duo are preparing to release their third studio album, which is self-titled, and they've been teasing fans with some of the new tracks weekly. They dropped "Keeping Score" on Thursday (June 15), and the song is exactly what fans are probably hoping for in a collaboration with Clarkson.

The mid-tempo ballad starts off with a gently melodic piano figure before Shay Mooney begins to sing, holding back softly to let the song build. Dan Smyers and Clarkson join in on the second half of the first verse, with her topline harmony creating a shimmering new layer of vocal magic as it blends with the duo's signature harmonies.

Clarkson gets the chance to show off her power and range in the chorus, which lifts into a sweeping melody as they sing, “I know I’m only human / Don’t know how many sunsets I got left / And I don’t want to ruin / This moment by wondering what comes next / I just want to love you / Like it's all I'm living for / Hold you close, enjoy you more / And spend a little less time keeping score."

Smyers co-produced the 11 new tracks with Dan + Shay's longtime collaborator, Scott Hendricks, whose credits include Alan Jackson, Faith Hill, Blake Shelton and more. The forthcoming self-titled project album contains the duo's hit, "Tequila" as well as a song inspired by their weddings called "Speechless" and their latest single, "Alone Together."

Dan + Shay is set for release on June 22. It's currently available for pre-order via various digital platforms. Fans who order early will receive instant downloads of "Tequila," "All to Myself" and "Speechless."
