Although the big national acts at the Pepsi Grandstand are a lot of fun, you can't forget about the rest of the entertainment at the Missouri State Fair, especially the shows at the Bud Tent!

I've always been a fan of smaller, more intimate venues, and the Bud Tent sure fits the bill. It's easy to see the artists on stage and you can really get up close if you want. It sounds good since it's a somewhat enclosed area, and you have cover in case the weather's not the best. Plus, there's a variety of fine alcoholic beverages to choose from right in the tent! Oh yeah, the entertainment is one hundred percent free.

Friday night I had the chance to head over and check out the very talented Curtis Grimes, all the way from Austin, Texas. He was on the first season of The Voice, and we got to see him for free here at the Missouri State Fair. Curtis and his band put on a really fun show, with a nice mix of original music and a few covers of well-known songs as well. The crowd was great, and everyone had a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed the first Bud Tent show I went to, and I think you will too. Check out the entire schedule here.
