Chris Stapleton Announced as First Headliner for WE Fest 2019
The 2018 iteration of WE Fest may still be going strong, but fans are already gearing up for next year's party. On Friday (Aug. 3), Chris Stapleton was announced as the first headliner slated to take the stage in 2019.
Festivalgoers got the news on Friday evening, shortly before headliners Florida Georgia Line performed to close out the second evening of the annual three-day event, which takes place every year during the first week of August at Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes, Mich. One of country's most in-demand vocalists, Stapleton is the reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year, and has performed at an extensive list of festivals.
Stapleton has spent much of the summer of 2018 on tour with his All-American Road Show. He's also getting used to an expanded family: He and wife Morgane welcomed twins in the spring (the couple also has an older son and daughter).
WE Fest 2018's scheduled lineup includes performances from Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Carly Pearce and many more. Underwood's set was one of just a small collection of shows on her calendar for the year; on Thursday night (Aug. 2) she delivered her 90-minute show, performing everything from her newest releases to some of her older fan favorites.
Fans who hold reserved or VIP tickets for WE Fest 2018 can renew their tickets for next year's party immediately by visiting the festival's online ticket renewal site. General admission for the 2019 festival is not available just yet, but more information, including camping options, will become available in the weeks to come via the WE Fest website.
